Excellent chicken burrito! Just have to walk a little off the main street.
Amazing food! Definitely recommend it to anyone!
Tacos are on point!! Fresh, crunchy, and tasty!! Nice hidden jem. Orders may take some time due to size and staff. Otherwise a must eat!! And they got beer!!! Thanks for the awesome tacos...Best wishes
Horrible!! Worse Mexican food I’ve had in my whole life. Taquitos are from a frozen dinner. Meat tacos made everyone in my family sick!!! Please don’t go here! You have been warned!!
I eat beans straight out of the can, so you know my standards are low. Got a burrito to-go, and had the worst tasting beans and rice I've ever eaten, I had to drown the burrito in salsa to make it palatable. Will never go back.
Probably the worst food and service I’ve had. Wished I’d read the reviews first because these people tell it just like I experienced today.
The cashier was rude. I nearly left.
Good food. Had awful service though. Eyerolls, rude comments & wrong orders while we were the only people there. Wont be back.
Good food, reasonably priced, great location. Able to create vegetarian or vegan choices.
Got the super quesadilla with pork. No salsa, guacamole, sour cream, chesse was scarce. Super dry quesadilla, tasted like like the grill and burnt tortilla. Not worth $9 whatsoever.
This place is great and has reasonable prices. Food very tasty.
This place has always been closed when we walked by. It was open today and we tried a taco. We decided on their 3 taco deal so each of us got a taco. We ordered and the food came out pretty fast. It came with 3 tacos, a lime for each, and a green sauce. The chicken was moist. The onions and cilantro was nice with it. I felt that even with the sauce, onions, and cilantro it still lacked flavor. We will be back though to try a burrito.
Good food
Great food!! Fast n friendly
Loved the tacos were bomb salsa very good and serves beer
Nice location and I had high hopes but the food was only okay. Seemed expensive and the fish taco was over cooked and chewy. Nachos were good but you will be left with a bunch of chips at the end and no salsa to enjoy them.
Steak tacos no flavor. Fish taco's need more seasonings and the frys are not even close to what you would call a Mexican fry.
I ordered the taquitos and it was like eating the ones from the store, disappointed. They were cut in half to look like more. My husband's chicken burrito had almost no chicken. First time eating here and last. My husband said poor customer service.
Good food but hours are weird and it's hard to ever be there when they're open. Google needs to have accurate hours.
Very nice family. Would highly recommend!
Underrated. The pork tacos are mind-blowing. Don't let the review scare you away the place is legit, and very easy to get to
Always closed in the middle of the busy days. We are done trying. Ate here once on Fourth of July weekend last year and loved the food. Have twice tried to eat there again for lunch since and it has been closed. In fact, we tried today at nearly 2pm. No hours of operation were posted. At least five other groups of people came by to get tacos at the same time we were there. All I can say is that it must be nice to have a business in a prime beach location and never feel the need to open it. I'd like to have that kind of money, myself!
Great homemade chips and salsa. I had gorditas which were really good.
If I could give a zero star I would. My daughter and I both got severe food poisoning (sick for 2 days) and and I'm pretty sure there was dog food in my husbands burrito. Also they have the smallest taquitos I have ever seen (the size of my pinky finger) you get 4 for $6. I never write bad reviews but I draw the line when my Mother's Day is ruined and I have to call in sick to work the next day because of one horrible meal.
Quick, cheap, and tasty. Homemade chips in the nachos are excellent and the meat is well seasoned. Great find in avila.
Picky kids won't like the burgers or nachos. Taquitos are good but small. Tortas are big. Sopes are okay but the taste was odd. Overall good service but I wouldn't call it authentic Mexican.
My husband n I have been coming here for bout 3 years n we have always been so happy n satisfied with the food. They r not very expensive n well worth it. Today, I had to bring my daughter so she too can enjoy the awesome big burritos. It may be small but the atmosphere is so nice n clean. The staff all all very nice n always treat u like family. I'm already being recognized. LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
Everything tasted like leftovers but what do you want for a pandemic
Pretty good, everything is freshly prepared.
Worst Mexican food I have ever attempted to eat , absolutely disgusting, bland, cold beans in the nachos just a hot mess all the way around not at all appetizing visually. Now about the service itself dirty tables cashier very unpleasant no trash cans , no restroom or a place to wash hands before you eat. Drinks are in ice bins next to the counter ice melted sittng all day with everyone grabbing drinks out with dirty hands remember no wash station to wash hands . Hands down one of the worst places I have ever eaten . Would have gave it a zero star if it were an option.
The cheese in the quesadillas didn't taste good. The fries were okay. The food they offer here doesn't look or seem appetizing. There aren't much drinks to choose from other then Arrowhead water and Coca Cola bottles and beer. I would suggest taking your own drinks. The cashier is friendly and helpful.
Wish they would invest in better quality meat. Fish taco was SO disappointing and dry. Best thing was the chips and salsa. Service seriously took forever. They send out one item at a time.
Burritos are large and very, very good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Small but good beer selection.
Here is how you have a great evening at Avila. Order their nachos and go to the beach. I'd ask for extra guacamole and extra sour cream. I'd order the chicken. Get the nachos, walk to the beach. Sit down, eat nachos with your kids, while they play. They are huge. I recommend doing this at sunset in the summer. It is a great way to finish your work week. Additionally, on a Friday, you can avoid the food lines at the Farmer's market, which you all should do as well, because it's a great start to the weekend.UPDATE: Went to Avila Farmer's Market on a Friday, went to get some Nachos, Taco Shack was randomly closed for the day. This can make it difficult for my "perfect end of the week" formula
Fish taco was great!!! Great find in Avila.
The carne asada tacos are great and reasonable priced
Friendly service, but dishes were bland
I can't vouch for the food here because I've been waiting for over half an hour for two tacos and there's no sign that they are coming anytime soon. Overpriced for a walk up place. I'm about to go ask for my money back.
Awesome food
Yummy authentic Mexican food prepared fresh on-site.
Very neat and accessible place. They serve generous portions and for economical rates. I liked the food a lot and the waiters were very affable and chatty. Will definitely recommend this place.
Took 55 minutes to get 5 tacos. Overpriced. I understand you are the only taco place here but how hard is it to make a taco
This is one of the best small spots in Avila to stop for a quick bite to eat without paying the high prices of beach front food. The guys are always friendly and kind, and I love that it is a low key environment for kids.
Always closed during my 3 day trip
They have a really great Chile Verde Burrito!! Great spot to hang out and grab a beer, or just take your taco to the beach.
Always great service♡We are never disappointed with the quality of food♡♡
Good for a quick lunch on the run. Not fancy, but good service. Not too many places to sit comfortably, so take your lunch up to the beach.
My husband and I got two classic burritos and taquitos to go. Delicious food and great service! Awesome place to stop for lunch in Avila Beach.
The food and prices were on point. There was a lack of free water, but I had a beer so that didn't really affect me but I took notice. Taco Shack was fairly busy but they got our order out quickly. Also the restaurant was very clean despite being next to the beach. I'll likely visit again.
